Has Your Child Ever Mentioned:

Tiger STAR Cafe: This occurs on most Fridays during lunch. One student from each class is chosen for outstanding behavior throughout the past week. He/she gets a really neat wristband, an opportunity to sit on stage, and have his/her name and accomplishment announced during lunch. A certificate stating this accomplishment will also come home.

Social-Emotional Morning Meetings: Our goal at Sealy Elementary is to build a culture of kindness and respect. One of the ways in which we are doing this is through our morning meetings. Every morning from 8:00-8:15, students report to their homeroom classroom to discuss concepts such as respect, caring, integrity, courage, and responsibility. No academic discussions occur at this time.

Spirit Sticks and Brag Tags: This week we started selling spirit sticks and Brag Tags for $1.00-$1.50 for 3rd-5th graders and will sell to all students starting next week. Spirit sticks and brag tags promote positive achievement and participation in the school environment and can be worn on lanyards, backpacks, etc.

ROAR Tickets: Students can collect these from any staff member throughout the nine weeks to earn rewards at the end of each nine weeks such as a popcorn party, ice cream party, silly string admin, slushy, etc.

Learn and Play: Learn and Play occurs twice a month at Selman Elementary(see online calendar for dates) and is open to parents and children that have not yet started school. This is an opportunity to learn educational games and enrich our youngest learners.

Spanish Word of the Day: Every week SES has a Spanish word/phrase of the week. Help support us by asking your students what any of the following words might mean?

  • Mucho gusto

  • Maestra

  • Estudiante

  • Bienvenidos

  • Buenos dias

  • Como te llamas

  • Dorado

  • Amarillo
