Home of the Thrill Seekers

What's Up?

This week, we started dividing numbers by powers of 10 as high as 1000 and as low as 0.001. We are continuing to study the Turn of the Century and Heredity in Science and Social Studies. In Language Arts, we finished an informational writing piece about our 3 favorite places at UGE.

Up Next...

We will continue working on dividing numbers that involve decimals. Please be reviewing how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals with your child, as these are difficult skills. In Science, students will be looking at pictures of parents to see who they inherited traits from. In Social Studies, we'll be learning about inventors and inventions that changed America in the early 1900s. We will be reading about Theodore Roosevelt as well.

Kindness Week is next week!

Monday- Canned food drive contest
Tuesday- Compliment Day
Wednesday- Wear Blue for World Kindness Day. If you are able, please send in a toy for the Toys for Tots drive.
Thursday- Thankful Day
Friday- Wear purple in honor of Rose Wallace. Students will also be collecting change for a rose garden in her memory.

Thank you for getting pledges! So far, our class has raised almost $1400 for UGE. 10% of that money will be for our class to use for supplies we need, so the more we raise, the more that stays with our class.
Our class rewards for Boosterthon are: 5 minutes of extra recess, tech hour, movie, pajama day, and popcorn party. I will keep you posted about when pajama day is.

Please send in pictures for our Heredity activity on Monday. After Monday, we won't need the pictures and they will be sent home.
