4th and 5th Grade
Presentations
The fourth and fifth graders have been hard at work on their Middle Ages presentation. Each student chose a topic to research and then present to the class. We have been starting those presentations this week. We had our first one yesterday and it was excellent! I am excited to see the next few weeks will bring with in depth research, gathering information, media, and technology skills. The presentations allow students the opportunity to enhance their critical thinking and creative skills and practice presenting to their peers.
Noetic Math Skills
I am so proud of each of the 4th and 5th graders this year! They have accepted the Noetic Math Challenge and are working very hard each week on the math problems.
"Our e-learning programs engage 21st century students, and enhance their fluency in a variety of mathematical concepts. Whether it’s addition and subtraction, geometry and algebra, or probability and statistics, Noetic Online Math Center is your resource for improved and enhanced math instruction. Students who cultivate an interest in math early on are better prepared to excel, both in school, and in their careers. Our unique e-learning solutions harness the student’s natural abilities, and provide just the kind of challenge students need to improve and develop these essential skills. It’s COOL to be good at math!"
The 5th graders will be competing in the Spring Math Contest! I will be sharing more information with each of you later! I will send home a few math problems with the 5th graders so they can practice over spring break :)
The Contest will be the first of April.
