Math, Science, and Social Studies
This week we will continue mixing all the fact families together for our accuracy check. Students will need to practice mixing these facts together at home. There are many free apps that can be downloaded on devices that will make this practice more fun. Multiplication.com is a class favorite if you have internet access. Students also have all the fact cards that we have made this year to use as well. We will take another practice test Thursday.
Decimals-Students will use metric measurement to model the decomposition of one whole into tenths and fractions greater than one whole.
Reading, Writing, and Word Study
Reading--This week we will be reviewing reading standards while completing a Leprechaun challenge.
Reminder--all students are expected to have a "grade appropriate" book to read in class every day. (This means a chapter book or a longer non-fiction selection--not Where's Waldo or a joke book). We do classroom library check in and out each Tuesday and Friday, and each class has a weekly trip to the school library.
Writing--We will be writing thank you notes to our author/illustrators who visited us last week. In addition, we will be doing some creative writing about leprechauns.
