What is a Paramedic?
A Paramedic is someone who is first to an accident or where someone is injured.
What are the Paramedic Tasks?
- To Observe, Report, and Record to the Physician about the patients conditions
- To Comfort and Reassure the patient
- Administer first aid treatment to patients
- Drive mobile intensive care unit (ambulance)
- And acess nature and extent of illness or injury
Working Conditions?
Where do they work?
- They can work indoors or outdoors
- They may be exposed to communicable diseases
What are they Expected to Do?
- They are required to beable to kneel, bend, and heavy lifting (for lifting patients)
What are they be Invoved in?
- They see injuries and people right before they get treatment, which means they must have tight stomachs
- Sometimes they may be involved in life or death situations
What is Required to be a Paramedic?
A Degree? Training?
- A Bachelors Degree
- EMT Basic Level work
- Approved EMT graduates must pass a written practical examination
