Message from Miss Melanie

We had a very busy end to the school year. Year 6 Graduation Dinner, Attendance Pool Party and our Whole School Mass and Awards. Lots of fun had by all the students in the lead up to the Christmas holiday break.

I would like to say a big thank you to the following staff who are leaving Holy Rosary - Miss Jess, Miss Jemima, Mr Kayde, Miss Lynette, and Miss Christine. We wish you all the best for your new adventures in 2023.

I would also like to wish a restful break to Miss Alis and Miss Chelsea who are taking the year away from Holy Rosary. Best wishes for 2023. Miss Jocelyn is also taking a break in Term 1 and Miss Giorgia in Term 2 - enjoy your travel plans ladies no matter which part of the world you get taken to, near or far.

A final thank you to all our Holy Rosary families for your support over 2022, especially with all the changes that have taken place. We wish you a happy and safe Christmas and New Year and look forward to seeing all the students back in 2023 rested and ready to learn.

God Bless.

Miss Melanie

Rejoicing Religion

We had our last Whole School Mass on Friday 9th December. Thank you to everyone that read on the day. The students sang the hymns beautifully and were very well behaved considering it was a long time to sit.

Thank you to Father Sales for officiating our Mass. It was Father's last Whole School Mass with Holy Rosary as he will be heading off to Balgo Hills on the 19th December to take up the position of Priest and will now have his own Parish to lead. We wish him all the best for his new adventure in the East Kimberley.

End of Year Awards

After our Whole School Mass we presented our end of year awards. Congratulations to all the recipients and for all your hard work to earn the recognition.

Year 6 Graduation Dinner

The Year 6 students celebrated their Graduation with a fabulous dinner with their peers, staff and families. Evie made a beautiful speech as Head Girl and reminded everyone of how special they all were and wished them well for their future endeavours.

A big thank you to Miss Jemima and Miss Kylie for decorating the PAC at Derby District, the room looked awesome. A delicious meal was catered for by Derby Fuels and was enjoyed by all, thank you. The Graduation Cake looked incredible and was very tasty - thank you to Cheryl Russ who made the cake.

Finally a big thank you to the Class of Year 6 2022. You clearly enjoyed yourselves on the evening but you have also enjoyed sharing in the many opportunities provided in your final year in primary school. Everyone at Holy Rosary wishes you all the best for the start of your journey through high school.

End of Year Concert

Thank you to all who attended our End of Year Concert. The classes looked spectacular in their costumes and the evening had a very upbeat tone to the night, classes were well prepared and they clearly enjoyed sharing their Christmas joy with our community.

We would also like to thank everyone who supported our sausage sizzle fundraiser. We raised $1200 which helped to cover the costs of our concert and our Year 6 Graduation dinner.

Pool Party

Our Pool Party was a fun couple of hours, with everyone enjoying the cool water, sausage sizzle and zooper dooper. Thank you to Mount Gibson Mining for supplying our lunch and to the Derby Police for cooking our lunch on the day, it was very much appreciated by all who attended.
