MESSAGE FROM MRS. ROBERTSON
As you will read in the linked information, we will be unable to provide social distancing among students. This includes all aspects of the school day, including lunch. However, we will be putting into place strategies to assist us with contact tracing if necessary. (i.e. assigned seating, small groups for instruction) Our staff is committed to keeping students safe and will continue to implement hand washing, cleaning protocols and monitoring of students.
We look forward to meeting each of you during Open House and partnering with you as we begin the 2021-2022 school year.
Let the year begin!
Yours in education,

SCHOOL VISITORS
Although we need to follow these protocols, our dedication is to you and the community. Please contact the front office or staff via phone or email should you have any questions.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL TIDBITS
- Consider taking first day of school photos prior to the arrival at school. If you do wish to take photos, on campus, you will need to do so outside. It is recommended that you have your child arrive to school using their regular form of transportation, especially bus riders. Meet them at the school to take your photo. This will limit confusions at the end of the day, during dismissal.
- Staff will be located throughout the building to assist students in finding their classrooms in the morning and again at the end of the day as we dismiss.
- Pre-k students will enter the building using the door on the "walker" side of the building. (see map below). Parents will need to park in the "Park and Walk Up" lot and walk their student to the door. Students will be unable to walk from the lot to the door unattended.
- Walkers will enter and exit using the same door. The crossing guard will assist students at the end of the school sidewalk.
- Car riders will enter the building using the door near the playground on the "car rider" side of the building. Car riders will exit using the gym doors using the same car rider loop. Please fill out a car rider registration to receive a number if your child will be a car rider on a regular basis.
- Bus riders will enter and exit using the front doors.

PTA
Greetings CMES families! We can't wait to get to know you better this year! As we get ready to begin the 2021-2022 school year, here are three things we want you to know:
1. We invite you to join our Carroll Manor PTA Facebook page for the latest happenings and discussions at Carroll Manor. Search "CMES Parents, Families & Teachers (PTA) Adamstown, MD" to find us. The page is not limited to PTA members, but to be approved you will need to answer our brief membership questions, which ensure that page members have a relationship with this Carroll Manor (not the one in Takoma Park).
2. We also hope you're planning to join us at Carroll Manor's Open House on August 16 from 2:30-4:00 pm. From 2:45-4 pm, Kona Ice will be available for purchase to benefit the PTA's events budget and staff appreciation efforts this year. Anticipated events include movie nights, trunk or treat, a bingo night, a variety show, paint nights, and a sweetheart dance.* Please stop by our PTA table for more information on our anticipated schedule, to join the PTA, to let us know your ideas for how we can continue to support the staff and families of CMES, or just to make a new friend at Carroll Manor. We'd love to meet you!
*All PTA events are subject to volunteer interest and availability as well as FCPS and health department regulations due to the changing nature of the pandemic.
