Math Place Value Test - Wednesday, September 21st

This will be our first major evaluation in math. We will review in class before the test. Pages 3 through 84 cover this topic in your child's math book.

We have assigned pages 81 through 84 as test review homework. This homework is due on Monday, September 19th.The test questions will be very similar to the questions on the review pages. We have asked all our fourth graders to take their math books home everyday to work on their homework and study for the test. Please remind your child to bring their book back to school everyday, as they will be needing them in class as well. Here is a brief list of concepts that will be tested:

-place value of whole numbers through 1 billion and decimals to the hundredths place

-using money to understand decimals

-interpret the value of each place value as 10 times the position to the right and as one-tenth of the value of the place to its left - in whole numbers

-comparing and ordering -whole numbers and decimal numbers

-rounding whole numbers to a given place value through the hundred thousands place

-decimals on number lines

-relating decimals and fractions

-standard, word, and expanded number forms - for whole and decimal numbers

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your child's math teacher.

Thank you!
