Happy Mother's Day to the 4C moms!
Math
Mrs. Close's Class - This past week the kids have been working on adding and subtracting mixed measurement units. During the coming week, we'll continue to work through Module 7 with more problem solving with measurement. Please encourage your child to correct their exit tickets and turn them in to me! On Monday, May 21st, we'll begin the bridge project!
Filed Trips
Genesee Country Museum ~ All permission slips and money are due by Friday, May 18th. Please let me know ASAP if you need another slip.
Erie Canal Trip ~ Permission slips for this trip will be in next week's Friday Folder. This trip is free!
Onanda Park ~ I'll send home the slips for our final trip in the beginning of June.
Swimming
I think the kids have really enjoyed their time at the pool! Only two days left! Kids will need to be prepared with their swim suits on Tuesday and Thursday of the upcoming week.
Music Reminders
For the coming week, kids will only need to bring instruments on Tuesday! They lucked out with lessons and ensembles falling on the same day.
NYS Science Test
The 4th grade NYS Science Test has two parts to it. The first part is "hands-on." Each student works independently through 3 stations to answer questions and complete different experiments. Our class will take this part on the morning of Wednesday, May 23rd. The second part is the traditional multiple choice and short answer, paper and pencil style test. That will be administered to all 4th grades on Monday, June 4th. We keep plugging away at reviewing "old" concepts to prepare. This past week we reviewed forms of energy and the water cycle is the plan for the coming week.
