Welcome to Week 9. We have been enjoying a number of great activities and experiences here at school and in the wider community. Friday's Waka Hoe Celebration Hut building and milo was enjoyed by all.
Fundamental Skills was an awesome week, resulting in great skill development and some very tired children by the end of the week.
Last week we had Blair Walker, from the Marlborough Museum at Brayshaw Park, come to the school to take a session on Turangawaewae with the junior classes. Yesterday the senior class went to Brayshaw Park to explore the space. Thank you to Michael Rea - Ray White Blenheim for the use of their van, and to families who supported with transport. The class had a fabulous time learning about Marlborough's history.
Today Nga Whētu are out and about on the Steadfast ship for their Turf to Surf experience. The weather looks to be clearing and we look forward to hearing about their experiences upon their return.
Our fundraising selling of Shower bombs got underway this week. Feedback so far is that these are selling quickly. Thank you all for your support with this.
You will be aware that we have a number of confirmed COVID cases at Spring Creek School in staff and children, as well as many isolating as household contacts. Thank you all for your calm and measured approach this time. Teaching and support staff have been juggled, moved and classes combined as needed. Please continue to let us know if your child tests positive, or if you are isolating as a household contact principal@springcreek.school.nz or Cara in the office 035705514. We have hard packs available for children if they are home as a household contact and you would like these to support learning, again let us know. Take care.
