Grace Before Meals - words from Fr. Leo Patalinghug
Here’s a special video that speaks of “putting on virtue.” It comes from Joe Hansbrough, the Grace Before Meals project manager. He has a busy schedule too as a young husband and father of 2. Since I’ve known him, he and his family have shared many personal challenges, including family health problems, the death of two siblings, and recently the death of his father. Yet, Joe and his faithful family continue to move on with life because of their Faith in God.
Faith is the stuff that makes family life such a blessing. Despite the struggles of life, a family has each other to console, encourage and strengthen one another. I’m so grateful to Joe and his family for the sacrifices made for our Grace Before Meals mission. I wanted to share with you this beautiful tribute that Joe made to honor is dad.
I hope this video inspires you to see how each member of your family is a gift from God. We’re all called to be this “super hero” to one another. When we do that, we put on more than a costume for Halloween. We become who we are supposed to be.

Let us pray:
Father in heaven, as our church celebrates All Hallows’ Eve, All Souls Day and All Saints Day, we pray that see the spiritual significance of our prayers by remembering the souls of the faithful departed and by living lives of sanctity so that we will one day share in the eternal victory celebration in heaven. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Soles4Souls is a foot stomping success
Shoes are a difficult item to recycle and were commonly sent to the landfill – until NOW! Take a look at the photos below to see how the the Madonna Community has supported this project. Strathcona County works with Soles4Souls to collect old shoes and keep them out of the landfill. Soles4Souls takes donated shoes and distributes them to where they are needed most. If they cannot reused they are sent for refurbishing by small businesses in developing economies.
Thank you for your generous support!
Animated Literacy....what is that????
Animated-Literacy™ is a highly motivating, multi-sensory approach to beginning reading, writing, and oral language instruction that moves students from the earliest stages of literacy to fluency and independence in reading and writing at a third-grade level.
You will notice the great songs, stories and engagement in your children's learning as soon as next week! It's a great program for reading and writing.

The school’s Fundraising Committee will be holding its’ Annual Parent Conference Bake Sale to be held in the evening during parent conference on Tuesday, November 8th and Wednesday November 9th .
We are asking families to donate 1 -2 dozen treats to be sold at the bake sale. These treats can be cookies, squares or any other yummy baked goods you like to bake. And for those who do not like to bake…we are not picky, purchased baking will also do!! (Please remember the baking needs to be nut free.) We ask that all baking be brought to school or dropped off at the school kitchen on Monday, November 7th anytime throughout the day and the morning of Tuesday, November 8th . Please make sure that any storage containers are clearly labeled with your child’s name and grade so they can be returned after the sale. (Or stop by to pick it up)
Volunteers are needed to set up for the bake sale, man the tables during the sale and take everything down and back to the kitchen at the end of the evening. The shifts have been set up in 30 minute blocks of time and have been coordinated with the interview schedule to make it convenient for your family. We are hoping for at least 2 volunteers for each time slot. The times are:
Set up: After School 3:30 – 4:00
Work At Bake Sale Table 4:45 – 5:30, 5:30 – 6:00, 6:00 – 6:30, 6:30 – 7:00
