Greetings Roadrunner Families,
While schools across our state are quiet--MUCH too quiet for my liking--planning, instruction, and feedback continue! It is taking the whole village to continue the education of our Roadrunners. We will continue to do good things TOGETHER!
Teachers - You had just a few days to COMPLETELY change where you teach, how you teach, what you utilize in order to teach. You did this while also deeply missing your students and not having any sense of closure going into this long time away from one another. Your world has changed both professionally and personally, yet the demands for providing our students an education continue and you are answering the call. You are reaching and teaching students as you care for your own children who are needing help with their own school work or tugging on your leg for your attention. You are remaining so very positive for your students while holding close in your heart your loved ones who are working on the front lines. You are finding ways to share and collaborate with your colleagues to meet this new method of teaching as you navigate new platforms to do so . You are extending grace to our Roadrunner families and students as they, too, work to overcome the challenges facing them in their homes and lives. You are, simply, amazing.
Parents/Guardians - You find yourself trying to provide for your family while also taking on the demands of facilitating remote learning. It’s not hard to guess that you are trying to figure out how to work, how to educate, how to cook, how to get laundry done, how to keep your sanity. Yet in all the navigating of your new normal, you are taking time to send such positive messages of gratitude to our staff and seeking their assistance with patience, grace, and understanding. You are appreciated.
Students - You are stepping up to the plate and taking ownership in your learning. The way in which you are participating so responsibly in your classroom discussions and meetings is noticed and admired. Your patience with your parents and guardians and teachers as they all try to help you the best way they know how is needed and appreciated. Your grit, perseverance, and determination serve as models for all of us. You are so incredibly important to us so please reach out to your teachers, family, and your principals if you need us! You are the reason we are here, and we are so very grateful for you.
All, thank you for the support and grace for all involved. There is no other school community I would want to be serving. The Roadrunner community is filled with solution-seeking, hard-working people: staff, families, and students. Stay strong and stay healthy!
