Message from the Nurse
Cold and allergy season is upon us. Please ensure your student has a reusable water bottle to use at school throughout the day. Per our school policy, medication consent forms must have a doctor’s signature in order for the nurse to give any medications to students at school (even if it is over the counter medications such as Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Tums, etc.). Cough drops are permitted to be carried by students without a doctor’s note.
Attention 6th grade parents/guardians: The Pennsylvania Department of Health requires all entering 7th graders receive the Tetanus-Diptheria-Acellular Pertussis (Tdap) and Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine (MCV) prior to the first day of 7th grade. Immunizations can be verified on Skyward, under the Health tab. Please contact your physician as soon as possible to schedule a visit to obtain these vaccines, or to have an updated record faxed to the middle school nurse at 717-389-1858.
Please contact Mrs. North, school nurse, at 717-389-1845 if you have any questions or concerns.

CCMS Performing Arts (CCMSPA)
Cedar Crest Middle School Performing Arts - Night at the Wax Museum
Cedar Crest Middle School Performing Arts is hard at work on our production of Night at the Wax Museum. The story is about six unlucky students that are out of school for the summer but they don’t know much about history — they have to re-take the class in summer school. First year teacher Heather Fairchild has arranged for them to help her two aunts set up a new wax museum as a class project. Though the students’ eyes glaze over with boredom, there’s a twinkle in the wax figures’ eyes when a mysterious incantation from the back of Cleopatra’s bracelet brings them to life! King Henry VIII finds himself smitten with Cleopatra, making his queen, Anne Boleyn, furious. If she can just not lose her head, John Adams is there to serve as her divorce attorney! When Butch Cassidy, the Sundance Kid, Blackbeard and a bevy of lady pirates show up, everybody’s out for one thing — treasure! Supposedly, there is a mighty valuable treasure hidden in the museum! It’s a wild goose chase to find it, with a greedy museum landlord and her bumbling son joining in the mad search. And why is Lizzie Borden lurking in the shadows, since the aunts say they never had a wax figure of her?
Stay tuned to the November newsletter for information on how to purchase tickets to our November 11 show at 7:00 pm and November 12, shows at 3 pm and 7 pm.

Volunteers and Chaperones
Cornwall-Lebanon School District greatly appreciates the volunteers and chaperones who provide assistance to students and teachers, as well as special events and activities. Volunteers are essential to the success of students. Look under the “Community” tab on the District Home page for details: www.clsd.k12.pa.us. Anyone who will be serving as a long-term or short-term volunteer for the District must complete the Volunteer Information packet, located on the website, prior to serving as a volunteer.
Student Breakfast/Lunch Reminders
ALL CLSD enrolled students can receive 1 FREE Breakfast each day, beginning October 3, 2022. Looking for the menu for your child’s school … ? Click on the “Lunch Menu” Quick Link icon on all CLSD websites (www.clsd.k12.pa.us) to find information and helpful links.
Important Note: Please be advised that due to supply chain issues, the CLSD Food Service Department may have to change menus at any school level on a moment’s notice. All efforts will be made to notify families of any changes. In most cases, Food Service expects to substitute like items and keep the service of meals to children as seamless as possible.
Special Invitation for CLSD Veterans & our Military families
A complimentary breakfast is planned for Thursday, November 10, 2022, to honor veterans who reside within the district. We also extend this invitation to those within our district family (employees, parents/guardians of district students) who are currently serving in the United States military. Please complete the Military Families Survey you will receive via Skyward in early October, or call 717-389-1810, to register prior to October 27. Each veteran may bring one guest. Reservations are required as space is limited.
After School Activity Bus Instructions
The Cornwall-Lebanon School District provides activity buses for secondary students who must stay after school for athletic activities, club activities, other school related activities, tutoring, and detention. The activity buses leave the middle school main entrance starting at 4:15 pm. The activity buses run Monday through Thursday during the school year. Information regarding the activity bus runs, the location that the buses serve, and the bus number for the area is posted at several locations in the middle school. Our school staff is also available to assist students with determining the correct activity bus to take for the journey home.
Students are encouraged to have their school ID to board activity buses. It is the students’ responsibility to know which activity bus they ride before boarding the bus.
Only students who are involved in supervised after school athletics or activities may ride the activity buses. Students who choose to stay after school to observe an activity such as a sporting event are not permitted to ride the activity buses. Activity buses are a convenience offered to parents who are not able to secure their child who is involved in a supervised after school athletic event or other school activity.
Activity buses are not a replacement for the regularly scheduled bus routes. The activity bus may only bring a student to the approximate area where the student resides. Students need to advise the driver where they need to depart the bus in advance of the stop. Parents may still have to drive to a suitable location along the route to transport the student home.
Students riding the activity buses are subject to the same disciplinary guidelines as students who ride the regular buses.
