Happy Friday Kipling Families!

Thank you to everyone who was able to come out to our Halloween parade! It was great seeing the excitement on the student's faces as they waved and saw adults that they knew. Back in the classroom, students have been practicing their problem-solving and teamwork skills as they work collaboratively. Teachers throughout the building are giving students tools to support them as they work together to achieve a common goal.

Just a reminder the clocks fall back an hour on Sunday, November 6th at 2 am and there is NO SCHOOL on Tuesday, November 8th and there IS SCHOOL on Friday, November 11th.

Hope you have the chance to get outside and enjoy the unusually warm weather with your family.

Kipling Elementary

SEL Spotlight (Social Emotional Learning)

Some of our classrooms have been using words of affirmation during their morning meeting to help prepare the students for the day. Words of affirmation help to promote self-esteem and a growth mindset, giving students phrases they can use when they are faced with a challenge. They have used phrases such as “I forgive myself for my mistakes” and “I choose my own attitude”.
