Awards Night
Parents:
As Awards Night approaches, the need to finalize the evening's events is drawing near. As a result, May 1st will be the cutoff date for graded assignments as a qualifying factor for academic awards. Student work must be submitted and completed by May 1st at 12:00 pm in order for that assignment or assessment to count toward an award category.
No student work or assessments completed after May 1st will be used in the decision to qualify for awards.
Last, Last Chance for Yearbooks | Lottery
Lanier Middle School will conduct a lottery for the purchase of the approximately 75 remaining Yearbooks. To give everyone a fair chance to receive a book, all names of students wanting a book will be entered into a lottery and randomly selected. Parents can enter the Lottery by completing the form using the link below. The deadline for entering the lottery is 11:55pm on May 3rd. On May 4th, names will be drawn and students will be notified. Parents will then have 2 days to complete the purchase of the books. If after 2 days, the book has not been purchased, the name will be removed and another name selected until all books are sold. One entry per student. Yearbook price is $40.

Meet Me at the Library | May 2nd
Hello,
My name is Wanda Luttrell and I am the Teen Representative at the Buford-Sugar Hill Library. I would like to invite your community to our Middle and High School Meet Me at the Library on May 2nd, from 4:30 to 7:00 pm.
This event is an introduction for parents and students to the library’s summer reading program and the many resources the library has to offer, including:
A representative from the Georgia Student Finance Commission will be here to answer questions about the Hope Scholarship, FAFSA, and other scholarship opportunities.
Volunteer Opportunities will highlight the many ways students can gain community service hours with the library, including general volunteering, being a Homework Helper, or shaping teen programs by being a member of the Teen Advisory Council.
Our Technology Showcase will allow parents and students to explore designing 3D printable objects in VR, demonstrate the many digital resources the library offers, programming with Arduinos, and introduce our upcoming technology programs.
Signing up for Summer Reading is a great way for teens to have fun while keeping their skills on track for the upcoming school year.
We look forward to see you at Meet Me at the Library.
Thank You

Know When Buses Arrive for Afternoon Dismissal & What Buses Will Be Late
To use: Just click on the slides in the left margin to see which buses were 1st, or 2nd Load. Typically the 2nd load will show what buses are late. Occasionally we will use a 3rd Load on days with special circumstances, like the beginning of school. If this is the case the late buses will be located there.
If you are inclined, you can use the free Google Slides App from the App store or Google Play to access and save to your mobile device.
