Student Absences & Attendance
In getting the students acclimated, we know the first week will be spotty with attendance. However, we will be taking attendance daily; period-by-period.
Classes
Please log into Powerschool and look over a copy of your students schedule. If you do not know how to access Powerschool, go to the school website click along the top tool bar "FOR STUDENTS" and look along the left side "Quicklinks" and click on the 12th box down "Powerschool" where you can find information.
Schedules
All students should have a link to the ADV or Advisory class.
Each day this week, students will have to log into the advisory class where they will be guided on how to log into their classes, how to navigate their schedules, contact teachers, along with a myriad of other items. It you received a paper copy of the schedule during welcome days, the periods were out of order and utilized a different numbering format, which was confusing. We have since fixed the problem. We have 6 periods outside of advisory each day. The numbers under the PERIOD column correspond with those periods.
3a(A) 3b(A), or 3b-4a(A) = 3rd period classes
4a-4b(A), or 4b-4c(A) = 4th period classes
All of the other numbers 1, 2, 5, 6 correspond directly with those periods. Please pay attention to the terms. 20-21 are year long courses. S1, S2 correspond to semester 1 and semester 2 courses. The only courses students should currently be concerned with are year-long and S1 courses.
Please note the time schedules below. Students received a written copy of this schedule during welcome nights. The entire district is on this time schedule. This time schedule corresponds to the periods on each students schedule.
ACADEMIC EXTENSION
Academic extension courses are designed to add extra support to all of our students. These courses will primarily focus on "extending" reading and math skills.
Due to the COVID mandated schedule changes and some last minute staffing changes, we are still actively altering students Academic Extension courses to ensure they are with the right teachers that cover the subject area (Math or English) that students need to enhance and that the students are evenly distributed. Therefore, over the next three days, the Academic Extension teacher on your students schedule may change.
THUS, STUDENTS WHO HAVE AN ACADEMIC EXTENSION ARE NOT REQUIRED TO LOGIN TO THAT CLASS UNTIL THURSDAY (8/27) OF THIS WEEK.
Students will receive an individual email from their Academic Extension teacher by Wednesday morning (8/26) to direct their login for Wednesday during the scheduled time.
This essential gives those students an additional break for just that period for this week.
ART CLASSES
Mrs. Kristin Maynard
She, will not be able to start corresponding with students until the end of this week.
Art students will not officially begin class until Monday August 30th during their regularly scheduled period. Please check your emails and parent portals for information on logging into that class as it becomes available.
Schedule Changes
Please be reminded that WRJH only has 6 electives; 3 designated for 7th grade and 3 designated for 8th grade.
7th grade is:
PE1
World Cultures
Art
8th grade is:
PE2
Health
Design 1
Some 8th graders may have electives originally designated for 7th graders. That is because last year they were in 8th grade electives. Essentially all WRJH students should have all 6 of these electives between 7th and 8th grade.
We do offer Spanish 1, designated for 8th graders as we will not have Spanish 2 next year - therefore offering the first level at 8th grade will allow students to move on to the high school to take Spanish 2.
Please review your students schedules. Make sure they have English, Math, Science, and Social Studies on their schedules. If any of these major courses are missing please contact the counselor Mrs. Tammy Wallace @ Twallace@reyn.org

Additionally, several students have never really used their email and thus have full mailboxes preventing them from getting necessary information from the school and from their teachers. Advisory teachers will be teaching students how to access their email account and how to contact teachers using their emails.
