We made it!
This has been a wonderful year of growth and achievement at Avondale Middle School. I am so proud of ALL of our students. We are excited to begin planning for next year and look forward to having an even better year together.
We are proud of the effort put forth by our students this year. Please make sure to check final grades. Final grades will be available for parents to view electronically on Wednesday, June 14th.
Review of the Week
What a great week! We celebrated our 6th and 7th grade award winners on Tuesday morning. I love how many students were recognized for growth, achievement, excellence, and demonstrating our HERD values.
We also enjoyed our 8th Grade Bridging Ceremony. Students were welcomed by the Avondale High School administration as they continue their educational journey from middle school to high school. Thank you to the staff, parents, volunteers, board members, administrators, community members, and students who made this even amazing.
Last Call!
Current 7th grade families please reserve your spot for Washington DC. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Make a deposit to hold your spot now! Unfortunately, we will not be able to add students in the fall.
Seventh grade students who have requested information about taking high school Biology should have received an email about a free summer course to prepare them to test out of Science 8. Please look out for information about that course.
The Best Thing
The Best Thing this week was the multitude of examples of students living our Respect the HERD values. Students were extremely Helpful setting up for awards and ceremonies, packing up classrooms for teachers to move, and cleaning up hallways after locker clean out. Students were Empathetic to each other by providing a listening ear or a big hug for students who are moving away and listening and supporting each other in awards ceremonies. We saw examples of students being Responsible by following school rules, taking care of their belongings, and reporting to school on time. Finally we observed so many students who were Driven to finish strong at the end of this school year. And still, we know, the best is yet to come!

AMS has been very fortunate to have had some outstanding PTO groups. In the spirit of that tradition we have rebranded our PTO to the MUSTANG BOOSTERS! This is be a group of volunteer parents and teachers collaboratively working to promote and support the outstanding groups, teams, clubs and school initiatives we have.
