Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party is one of the events that lead to the American Revolution. Patriots dumped British tea in the Boston Harbor to protest unfair taxes from Britain. Britain caused colonists to protest taxes because the high costs from the French and Indian War in which the colonists had to call Britain to protect and help them win. Britain started three new taxes called the Sugar Act, Stamp Act, and Tea Act. This event happened on December 16, 1773 in Massachusetts.
First Continental Congress
The First Continental Congress is another one of the events that lead to the American Revolution. Delegates from each colony except Georgia gathered to respond to British actions. This event was from September 5, 1774 to October 26, 1774. This event happened in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This event happened in Carpenter's Hall.
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre is another one of the events that lead to the American Revolution. That event took place when British troops fired on anti-British demonstrators. On March 5, 1770, five colonists were killed. This event happened in Massachusetts. One man named Crispus Attucks was the first African American killed.
Battle of Lexington and Concord
The Battle of Lexington and Concord is the last event that lead to the American Revolution. Lexington and Concord are the first battles of the American Revolutionary War. This event happened on April 19, 1775 in Massachusetts. The colonists won this battle against the British. One of the colonists advantages are the colonists responded by forming an illegal Patriot provision.
Battle of Saratoga
This battle is the turning point of the American Revolutionary War. The got a decisive victory over the British on September 19, 1977 and October 7, 1977. The colonists had to prove themselves to France by winning this battle. The Battle of Saratoga secured a alliance with France for the colonists during the American Revolutionary War. The colonists advantage in this battle was the colonists got secret supplies from the French.
Battle of Yorktown
This event was the last battle of the American Revolutionary War. The French helped the colonists win the American Revolutionary War. Britain had to surrender because they were trapped by the colonists and the French. The colonists advantages was Home Field Advantage, and Leadership of George Washington. Britain's disadvantages was no reason to fight, and resources a ocean away.
Ben Franklin
He helped the colonists win the American Revolutionary War by writing the Treaty of Paris and giving it to France. He told France to join the colonists in American Revolutionary War. He said the Americans will give France Canada back. He also told France that he would give them the western part of Appalachian Mountains.
George Washington
He helped the Americans win the American Revolutionary War. He made Britain surrender at the Battle of Saratoga and Battle of Yorktown. George Washington avoided any situation that threatened the destruction of the colonists. George Washington's leadership helped the Americans win the War.
