Congrats Mr. Hearn!
Family Newsletter
Hello CPE Families,
Happy May! As we launch into a new month we want to highlight that May is Asian-American/Pacific Islander Heritage Month! Teachers will be sharing stories and traditions to help students learn about and honor celebrate Asian-American and Pacific Islander identities.
Our theme for this month is, “Good Sport.” In these trying times the attitudes and actions of a good sport will help our students be successful.
I want to highlight a new opportunity for our students on Wednesdays. Our amazing support teachers are going to offer Clubs for the next four Wednesday mornings that we have school. Please see below for the zoom links and time by grade.
Finally, I want to continue to thank you for your partnership. Most families are doing their attestation before 8:00, helping us make school entry smooth. Please encourage your student to log on and do school everyday. These last several months can make a real difference in preparing them to be ready for the next school year.

Hybrid Learning Reminder:
All students attending school in person must have a health attestation completed prior to entering the school building each day your child comes to school. Emails titled “Action Required: Student - Edmonds School District Daily Symptom Check” are sent directly to families around 5:00 am. The email links provided are student-specific so you need to complete an attestation form for each student attending in-person learning.
Here are a few tips that will help us to streamline the attestation process for students:
Please complete the attestation as early as possible. One hour prior to arrival at school is ideal. You know you have done the attestation correctly when you get the green check mark!
If you are sending your students via bus or walking and your student and you are having trouble with the email, please call the office for assistance (425-431-7620).
Students without a completed attestation form are not permitted inside school buildings until we can verify their health with a family member or a trained staff member completes a full health check including asking about possible symptoms and taking a temperature.
The health attestation process is important as a primary protection to mitigate COVID-19 transmission. Thanks for your supporting our efforts to streamline this process while ensuring the safety of our students and staff!
Remote Learning Reminder:
Pick up is now only on Wednesday from 9am- 3pm, once on campus look for the signs directing you to building C for instructional material pickup. If you need special arrangements because Wednesday will not work, please let us know.
Every Wednesday at CPE the district provides FREE Grab and Go meals for the week. Meals will be distributed via drive-thru the bus lane from 9:00am-10:00am.

Attendance Information
Attendance and Truancy during COVID-Attendance Matters
Schools are taking attendance during remote learning and marking absences as excused or unexcused. Contact the school if your child participated in remote learning, even if it wasn’t a live class, and you don’t think the school knows. If your child was not able to participate because of COVID-related problems, contact the school to excuse their absences. It is important that you communicate with your teacher and your school to get the support you need.
School Attendance line 425-431-3919 call to report your student absent. If you know your child will be absent, please call and leave a message. Our registrar checks messages every day. You can also let the teacher know about your child being absent.
