INFORMATION and UPDATES
Spring Direct Donation Drive
Starting this Monday, May 6, we will be holding our direct donation drive. During this fundraiser, we are asking students to reach out to friends and family and ask for contributions toward some very specific needs at Adams. The fundraiser will run until May 14th and there will be several incentives for kids to help us meet our goal.
This spring, we hope to raise funds to purchase a Reflex Math site license for the 2019-2020 school year (learn more at https://www.reflexmath.com), fully supply the extra classroom being added to Adams by the bond measure, and to add more after school clubs next year.
Students will be sent home with more information and envelopes for collecting donations on Monday, so please keep an eye out for this. Thank you for your help and support of these causes!
Dine Out - Old Spaghetti Factory
Let’s Eat Out Fundraiser
Out next Dine Out night will be held this Tuesday, May 7th at the Spaghetti Factory. So take the night off and enjoy a family dinner out for this Let’s Eat Out (LEO) event!
You must present the following flyer on paper or on your phone, so here it is! Thank you for your support!
Carnival
It's Adams Carnival time and we need your help to make it a big success. The Adams Carnival is Friday, May 17th from 5:30-7:30 pm. Our carnival needs 150 volunteers to fill all the shifts. These include Set Up (moving tables, hanging signs, decorating booths etc), Running Carnival Games, Serving Food (Adult Volunteers only), Taking tickets (Adult Volunteers only) and Clean up. High school and Middle School siblings are welcome to sign up for Games or set up too! Please sign up for one or more shifts and join us in a fun Adams Family event! Thank you for your support!

APT Meeting
This coming Wednesday, May 8th, is our next APT meeting in the library. During this meeting, we will be focused on reflecting on this year and looking forward to next year. With almost an all new board next year, we want to hear your thoughts!
So please come and offer you input on what worked well, what could use some tweaks, and what you’d like to see happen next year!
Staff Appreciation Week
Adams will be celebrating our Teachers & Staff the week of May 13-17th, which is a week after National Teacher Appreciation Week to give us extra time to prepare and make sure we show our staff how truly appreciated they are!
We’ll kick the week off with door decorations that express our gratitude. If you’d like to help the parent volunteer for your child’s class email echoward08@yahoo.com . It’s a beautiful site to see!
Midweek we’re asking for volunteers to donate items towards a continental breakfast (Tuesday), snacks (Wednesday), and a potluck (Thursday). Visit the signup link at https://signup.com/go/syaWPbh to see what’s needed and to volunteer.
In addition to the above, I’m sure teachers and staff would appreciate a personal expression of thanks through a thoughtful note, flowers, gift cards or something similar. Most staff completed surveys about what they like and appreciate most. It’s a great way to be sure you get something you know they’ll love! Email your room parent or Jenny Stickland at Jennifer.stickland@yahoo.com for a copy of their survey.
Box Tops for Education
If you have any box tops, please turn them into the school's office or your child's teacher no later than Friday, May 31st.

PE and Wellness
PE NEWS
Every class warmed-up with laps and hurdles around the gym, followed by a game called "Bean Bag Touch and Go" and an exercise titled "Popcorn Push-Up." During the first class of the week, each class did a PACER test. K-2 students had their lap counts sent home by teachers. This is about gaining experience and confidence with the PACER process. 3-5 students try to improve their lap counts. They will receive a PACER progress report next week after we've done make-ups. Students practiced badminton skills during the second class of the week.
