By Grace Gavronski

What were these laws? Where did they come from?

These laws were a series of horrible, segregation, anti-black laws. The term Jim crow came from a white actor who painted his face black with charcoal while dancing to a the song "Jump Jim crow".

There were many Jim Crow laws that prevented blacks and whites from interacting with each other. Here are just a few examples of how horrible these laws were.

—Birmingham, Alabama, 1930

“Separate free schools shall be established for the education of children of African descent; and it shall be unlawful for any colored child to attend any white school, or any white child to attend a colored school.”

—Missouri, 1929

-Female white nurses couldn't take care of a black men.
-White and blacks couldn't play pool together.

Two people changed the history of the united states forever. These two people are Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King JR .To start with,Rosa Parks was sitting on the bus in one of the front sits .A white person asked her to move she didn't even when the police came on and arrested her just for not moving to give up her seat for a white person. That is just not right.Martin Luther king also changed the US history he had a strong belief that all Americans should be treated the same ,and equally. He made a huge difference in the civil rights movement ,he coordinated, marches ,protest, and speeches. He even put his life at risk fighting for this huge problem, also he got put in jail over 22 times for civil rights of African american people. Wow now that's what I call a real hero!
