The Focus on the Future for Kids: Community Input Initiative
The Clark County School District (CCSD) is announcing the launch of a process to engage the community on a shared vision of what we want for our schools and how we can invest recent infusions of federal funds to support that vision.
The Focus on the Future for Kids: Community Input Initiative will kick off this summer with outreach to a variety of key community groups.
CCSD will receive approximately $770 million dollars in federal funds over the next three years to help support the needs of students and address the impact of the pandemic on educational outcomes.
Throughout June, CCSD will ask community groups to participate in the input-gathering process. The District will work with community partners, including the Kenny Guinn Center for Policy Priorities, Opportunity 180, and the Public Education Foundation, to develop a tool kit that will help community groups solicit input from the people they serve.
In July, August and part of September, CCSD will work with these community groups to survey a broad swath of parents, educators, students and other members of the community.
Data from the input process will be collected and analyzed in late September, with a goal of presenting a shared community vision for our schools in late October.
More details on this important initiative will be shared with the community in the coming weeks. Please visit http://www.ccsd.net/futureforourkids.
