Coming Up for Manville Schools
MHS Basketball Takes on Parkinson's Disease
Come out to the MHS gym this Saturday, January 21 to help the basketball teams take on Parkinson’s Disease. The day will feature games, food, a photo booth and knockout games against Manville faculty and coaches. Games start at 11:30 and all proceeds and donations are in memory of Ned Panfile, Sr. If you’d like to make a donation online, you can do so here.

Watkins Fundraiser

ShareFair Community Resource Fair
Princeton Justice Initiative, in partnership with AmeriCorps Seniors, invite you to the ShareFair Community Resource Fair on January 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Weston Elementary School. There you’ll be able to access community resources, vaccines, pro bono civil legal advice, online search help, and more. Please see the flyer for more information.
Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad

Free Cardiac Athletic Screening

Bilingual Programs in NJ & Parent Rights
New Jersey's Department of Education is hosting a webinar on February 7 for parents of English language learners and the district staff that support them. The session will highlight the value of the home language, the benefits of being in a language program, district strategies for creating language programs and resources available to parents. Recreation Spring Sports Registration
Registration for Manville Recreation’s spring sports is now open. Programs include
- Instructional soccer for ages 4 to 6
- 1st and 2nd grade soccer development training
- In-town/travel soccer for grades 3 through 8
- Softball for grades 1 through 8
- T-Ball for boys and girls ages 4 to 6
- Baseball for ages 7 to 12
K–8 Rutgers Reading Pledge

NJCIE ALL IN Poster Contest
The New Jersey Coalition for Inclusive Education is holding a poster concert open to all students in grades 1 to 12. Category winners will receive a $50 prize, with a grand prize winner receiving $250. More info at https://www.njcie.org/poster-contest
Food Assistance
The Manville Food Pantry will be open the second Saturday of each month at the Faith in Action Church at 228 S. Main Street. Please make sure to bring your ID and a bag.
Feeding Hands is also offering assistance the fourth Saturday of each month at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 34 South Third Avenue. See the flyer for dates and more details.
Somerset County COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics
The Somerset County Department of Health has opened additional COVID-19 clinics. Visit their website for a full list of dates, times and other details.
Free At-Home COVID-19 Tests
The federal government has reinstated the free over the counter antigen test distribution program. Each household is eligible to order four free at-home COVID-19 tests. Orders are expected to begin shipping this week. Visit covid.gov/tests for more details.
