Ocee LC Resource Roundup
Free BookFLIX trial until 10/30
Try Bookflix! Fiction and nonfiction texts with guided reading levels!
I was offered this free trial of BookFLIX for our school and thought you'd want to check it out! :-)
BookFLIX is a resource that pairs high-quality fiction books with related nonfiction books. Guided reading levels are included! Paired texts are a wonderful resource to help integrate literacy and social studies and science instruction and also a great way to get kids reading more nonfiction.
The site can be used for small groups or during whole group instruction. It can be used at home or at school on any computer or device. The site contains many resources, too, such as Meet the Author, lesson ideas, and a puzzles section. All are directly related to the texts. Many of the texts have a read aloud feature.
Please let me know if you like it.

- Complete a story map or plot summary of the fiction book.
- Virtually meet the author of all books.
- Analyze the problem and solution of the fictional story.
- Create a character map from the fictional book based on facts from the nonfiction book.
