Early Life of Roald Dahl
Roald was born in September 13, 1916 in Liandaff, South Wales, UK. Growing up he was a very energetic kid, he would often find himself getting into trouble. After messing with the principal along with some other kids he and them were severley beaten, and his mom put him in a boarding school where they had a lot of rules and there would be major consecuinces if broken. And that's where he got the idea to write alot of his grewsome stories. Later he became a salesman before joining the air force.

After being in the British Air Force, he wrote children books along with adult books based on his experiences during times in his life. In 1953 he married an actress named Patricia Niel. Many of his children books ideas, came from him telling stories on the spot to his three children before bed. But unfortunatly in 1962 his seven year old daoughter died from measels.
Why Roald Dahl Became An Author
Roald Dahl became a writer because of his amazing imagination along with the real life experiences. He said for instance, in many of his adult books most of the grewsome content came from his time in his bording school. Because there was so many rules. Along with the time in the Military. And for most of his children books, it would come from just talking to his kids and making up stories together.

My Connection To Roald Dahl's Books
One of my all time favorite books is Charlie and the chocolate factory. I like that book because of the way he potrays his charactor and the whole idea of the book basically. He also add a ot of detail in to his books wich keeps me intrigued and wanting to know more.
