Simon Bolivar, a major person in Colombia's history.
In 1810, Colombia was one of the first spanish colonies in the Americas to declare independence.This was mostly done by the help of Simon Bolivar and his struggle for independence. In the 1819s colombia became a part of New Granada, which was an independent country.

Columbia's major economic problem.
Since the 1980s, drug dealers have been a major force in Columbia. The dealers pay farmers to grow coca.The plant coca is made into the drug, cocaine.The dealers use the profit they make, selling the drug ,to build private armies.They have threatened and killed government officals who have tried to stop them.
Colombia's, major mountain
The Andes rise in the western part of Columbia. Here they have become a cordillera-mountain ranges that run side by side. Nearly 80% of Columbus people live in the valleys and Highland plateaus of the Andes.
