Cindy Weiner, LAF School Counselor, will be our next guest speaker at the PTO meeting on November 21st. She'll speak to our Social Emotional Learning Curricula as well as other programs that she provides to the LAF students. Join us at 9:15 on 11/21.
Buy a Book ~ Donate a Book
This year LAF has partnered with the Hudson Guild to be a recipient of gently used books donated during our Scholastic Book Fair. Hudson Guild is a 124 year old, NYC non-profit that serves the low income residents of the Chelsea neighborhood. The Guild has over 300 kids in Head Start and preschool programs plus a vibrant after school program for kids ages 5-17. The books you donate will be used in classrooms and given to children who often don't have books at home to read.
There will be boxes in the lobby and by the LMC where you can place your gently used books. Thank you in advance for your donations.
Mini Marathon Update!!
LAF PTO would like to thank Joe Capo, Director of Centercourt's Ninja Training Program for coming to Lafayette to train at Tuesday’s practice. He brought a lot of excitement to our students who recognized him from their time at the Centercourt Ninja course in Chatham, as well as from TV where Joe was featured numerous times in his journey to the National Finals of American Ninja Warrior in Las Vegas.
We look forward to seeing our nearly 280 participants and fans at race day, this Monday, 10/21 right after school! We will have Sam the Ice Cream Man, Mexican Spice truck and our Book Fair will be open right after the race.
