Amazing Educator Award
Congratulations to Mrs. Paula Frank won The Amazing Educator Award presented by Little Rock Family! Mrs. Frank has done a phenomenal job helping to keep Christ the King School going under these unprecedented times, especially with the technology support she has provided for our teachers, students, and school. She was presented with her award during a Zoom meeting and will be featured in the January issue of Little Rock Family.
Students Head to the Polls
The votes are in! CTK students voted for several issues in their classes. After some strong campaigning, they voted on their class president (Mrs. Spellins vs. Mrs. Roe), class mascot, class book, and more. They created a voter registration card and were required to present it before going to the voting booth. After they submitted their votes in the ballot box, they received an "I Voted" sticker.
DW vs. Arthur...Who Will 3rd Grade Choose?
Third grade students campaigned for storybook characters Arthur or DW. They made ads and speeches to persuade their classmates to vote for their candidate.
Halloween Fun Day
The Thursday before Halloween Christ the King School was filled with princesses, super heroes, witches, ninjas, mermaids, care bears, and many, many more characters. Even our virtual students dressed up! Students were in for some Halloween fun - reverse trick-or-treating, costumes, games, a pop-up pumpkin patch, movies, lots of fun Halloween-themed STEM activities, and even a few tricks! It was a fun day for students and teachers!
Reverse Trick-or-Treating
Mrs. House and Mrs. Coppola bagged up over 600 bags for reverse trick-or-treating. Then they sent the Student Ambassadors out for delivery!
Spooky Surprise!
Students in Mrs. Bearden’s 3rd grade class were in for a surprise on our Halloween Fund Day when they had an unexpected visitor!

Pop Up Pumpkin Patch
First graders weren't able to go on their annual pumpkin patch field trip but that didn't stop them from having fun at CTK's Pop-Up Pumpkin Patch! One 1st grader even said, "this is the best day ever"! Thank you parents for setting up the best pumpkin patch in Little Rock!
Room on the Broom STEM Project
The Room on the Broom STEM activity was a big hit with first graders! Students built brooms from supplies they were given and tested them to see how many pumpkins they could hold without breaking.
Special Delivery!
More treats were in store for our Halloween Fun Day! This time it was time to treat the teachers! Mrs. House and Mrs. Coppola delivered Sonic drinks to all the teachers on the late Thursday afternoon of conferences.
Moldilocks and the Three Scares STEM Project
Third grade students also worked on a fun Halloween STEM project! They read "Moldilocks and the Three Scares". They constructed new "chairs" and tested them with different sized pumpkins.
Surface Tension Lab
Teachers and students have done a great job adapting to our new guidelines and have even figured out how to make fun projects, like science labs, work. Students in 7th grade have been learning about cohesion of water molecules and explored surface tension which allows paperclips to float on water and water to bubble up on a penny.
50th Day of School
In the past, the 50th Day of School is celebrated with a sock-hop, 50's party, and root beer floats. This year, with the restrictions in place, the kindergarten teachers came up with a way to celebrate and follow the COVID guidelines...a drive-in movie! Students brought boxes from home and transformed them into cars during their art class. Then on the 50th day, they each got in their "cars" and watched a movie at our "drive-in movie theater" complete with concession stand popcorn!
Jr. High Students Praying the Rosary
Jr. High students have started to pray for the souls who have been laid to rest in our columbarium. They have each chosen someone to pray for and will continue to pray for them and their families during the month of November. They kicked off this season of prayer by praying the rosary in the columbarium.
Pre-K and Kindergarten Sneak Peek
Due to COVID restrictions we are unable to have visitors in the school for our annual "Pre-K and Kindergarten Sneak Peek" so we went virtual! We will be sharing our virtual sneak peeks with all the families interested in our Pre-K and Kindergarten programs. We also wanted to share them with you! Here is a peek inside a typical day in the life of a pre-K student and a kindergarten student. (If you know someone who may be interested in these programs let us know by clicking the Family Referral form below.)

Congratulations to Rosh Ranaraja, CTK class of 2017, for qualifying as a National Merit Semifinalist!
The Bear Den
Cross Country Bears
Our Cross Country Bears have been working hard to defend their title this year. Last night our inner running bear came alive with our boys finishing 2nd overall and our girls finishing in 3rd place. You have to be quick to catch a fast bear! Fact: Bears can run more than 37 miles an hour and they can do it up hills, down hills, or along a slope. That's 50 feet per second! More than twice as fast as a human can run. That's a lot of wabbit toes, falcon talons, and a few wings. MMMMMMMMM TASTY!!!! FEED THE BEAR!
From Firecrackers to Rockets
The Catholic High Rockets football team, lead by our former CTK Bears, played an amazing season, winning four games and beating the North Little Rock Wildcats!
Mounties and Firecrackers in the News
The Mounties and Firecrackers AAA teams are getting our students ready for high school by competing and playing at a higher level.
