Mrs. Wallauer and Dr. Mahler honored as Slackwood's Governor's Educator of the Year

Mrs. MaryEllen Wallauer and Dr. Jennifer Mahler were honored by their peers at Slackwood's representatives for Governor's Educator of the Year. Mrs. Wallauer, a first grade teacher, represents the Teachers and Dr. Mahler, our school psychologist, represents the Educational Services Professional. Congratulations to these two great educators.


Mrs. Wallauer now has the option of submitting paperwork to be considered for the County Teacher of the Year. Educational Services professionals do not have this option.

About Slackwood Elementary School

Slackwood's original structure was built in 1904. This is the 110th year that we have opened school here in our little neighborhood. At the present time, we have three classes for each grade level, K-3, and two special education classrooms.
