Squamous cell carcinomas typically appear as persistent, thick, rough, scaly patches that can bleed if bumped, scratched or scraped. They often look like warts and sometimes appear as open sores with a raised border and a crusted surface.

Some interesting information about SCC is that if someone has green,blue or grey eyes they have a greater chance of getting squamous cell carcinoma. Also if they have red or blonde hair, they have a greater chance of getting the disease.
