Procession Journal
Coming to you from the best street in the best civilization!
Parade
There is a new type of parade coming to Babylon, it was from Sumer originally... But now, we are making it our own and having it down our famous Procession Avenue. As well as our many friends working on caravans going from place to place, we will get to have visits from friends, the Indus traders are coming to see us, and share the materials they have found from their homelands. This is the first of many traders and parades down Procession Avenue, but it is hopefully the start of a wonderful weekly tradition.
Procession Avenue: The best place for everything in town!
Model
What a model of the street looked like before it was built...
The front of the avenue!
You can see that the gates and surrounding areas of the road all are very comfortable.
The Ishtar Gate
As you know, this is the wonderful gate at the front of the street...

New art gallery is coming to town!
Coming by caravan, it will be amazing! From the many subsequent periods in the 10th century BC Mesopotamian art exists in a number of forms: cylinder seals, relatively small figures in the round, and reliefs of various sizes, including cheap plaques of moulded pottery for the home, some religious and some apparently not.One of the largest pieces that is coming to town, the Burney Relief is an unusual elaborate and relatively large (20 x 15 inches) terra-cotta plaque of a naked winged goddess with the feet of a bird of prey, and attendant owls and lions.
Population Explosion
As you can see in our wonderful city-state, we are having a population explosion... Our population has more than tripled since 20 years ago, although we only took over Sumer, not any other city-state. This is showing that if we would keep growing at this rate, we will definitely be the largest (by population, as we currently are) in Mesopotamia. This is great, but we will need to up our army's population to help protect us.
A graph of the rapid population growth.
The Y axis is population. The X axis is years.

New irrigation systems are being put in place!
Those new communities in the dry and mineral-poor plain of southern Mesopotamia, they were able to survive only by creating irrigation systems and tapping into the already-existing trade routes of the region. The plains of southern Mesopotamia have wonderfully rich soils, deposited by the rivers Tigris and Euphrates over thousands of years. Watered by means of irrigation, they turned into highly productive farm land, able to sustain large populations. The first successful efforts to control the flow of water were made in Mesopotamia and Egypt, where the remains of the prehistoric irrigation works still exist.
This is what it might look like...
PSA: Assyrians are coming!
Watch out! The Assyrians are coming with there new chariots and the rest of there army! As you must have seen or experienced yourself, thius army is rapidly approaching our city-walls. Although these walls are very strong, it is the powerful Assyrian army that we are talking about now. I am so scared for our beautiful civilization, and what might happen to us. The worst part is that they are not just coming to us, they are also coming to the largest city in Israel.
Assyrians: heirs of Mesopotamia.
More gods are incubated!
The famous priest, Kuwari, just recorded that two new gods, and , are now part of our amazing, polytheist religion... "This will change our history books for ever!", exclaimed Kuwari with great excitement and passion. Kuwari is a priest that is completely literate, which sets him apart in his field. If I were him, I would be so proud and excited, like him.
The Hanging Gardens are Created!
Nebuchadnezzar builds a palace full of beautiful plants and trees and he built it just for his wife, Amytis. How romantic! He hand- picked this lucky lady for her looks and beauty. She is a lucky lady! I wouldn’t mind being her! The reason he did this is because Amytis was home- sick from her homeland. This palace full of trees and plants is called the Hanging Gardens. It is called the Hanging Gardens because the gardens were built high above the ground on multi-level stone terraces. It takes about 8,000+ gallons of water to treat this beautiful palace! They have made a water irrigation system to water the Hanging Gardens. The Hanging Gardens is 400 feet wide by 400 feet long!
Our Big Trade!
We just gained 5 pounds of gold! It is our biggest trade yet! All we had to trade was 10 bunches of barley! Can you believe it!! We already have a surplus of wheat and more! The trade was successful and it will most definitely benefit our civilization greatly. Because of this, we will rule Mesopotamia for a very long time!
