Saints Scoop

Sept. 30-Oct. 7, 2022

Dear ICCR Community,

It's starting to feel like fall at ICCR! The air is getting cooler, the days are getting shorter, and the leaves are beginning to change colors, but the start of fall also signals many exciting events at ICCR. From Trunk or Treat to our Walkathon, October will be a fun and busy month for our community.

This newsletter has a lot of information in it. Please read through it carefully for reminders and updates. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

Best regards,

Mr. Miele

September's PTO Meeting Minutes,

Dear Families,

Thank you to everyone who joined us virtually and in person Thursday for our September PTO Meeting. I've linked the minutes from our meeting below. Please review the document and let me know if you have any questions.

One of the events we are thrilled to bring back this year will be our Mother/Son and Father/Daughter Dances. We are looking to form a committee of parents interested in researching and planning these exciting events.

Please add your name to the form below if you are interested in helping plan these or any of the PTO events this year.

Uniform Swap!

Dear ICCR Community,

Thank you to all the families who dropped off and donated uniforms. Tuesday, October 4th, will be the last day to bring your gently used uniforms to the school. Families that donate will receive a small voucher to use on the day of the swap.

Then on October 12th and 13th, from 3:00-4:00 pm in the Cafeteria, we will have our ICCR Uniform Swap. Families may use their vouchers or make a small donation to our PTO.

We appreciate your help! If you have any questions or would like to donate. Please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Worrall or me.

Best regards,

Mr. Miele

Nurse's Note

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful fall weather! It has been wonderful to watch the children playing outside.

Please let us know if you need any information on obtaining booster shots for Covid 19 for your children. Right now, they are readily available for everyone over the age of twelve, and hopefully, by the end of next month, they will be available for the 6-11 age group as well. These are bivalent vaccines and have been proven to be effective against the omicron variants. We strongly encourage everyone to remain up to date with their vaccines.

Our Flu Clinic will be on October 26th. Registration will be opening soon - look for updates!

Next week, we will be having our Hearing Screening for children in grades Prek., K,1,2, and 3. The screeners are from the Rhode Island School for the Deaf in accordance with the State of RI. If you do not wish to have your child screened, please feel free to email me or call me at school.

Some of our younger students will be receiving a visit from Cali, a therapeutic comfort dog from the Cranston Police Department next Wednesday, October 5th. We are hoping to have Cali on a weekly basis so that all of our students benefit from this experience. Comfort dogs are so important to fostering a sense of security, and fun! We welcome her, and her partners, Officers Iacone and DiSano!

Thank you, as always, take care!
