Proper Usage Information for devices
Information about proper iPad usage
In Atlanta Public Schools, district technology resources, including iPads, computers, networks and other electronic devices, are the property of the school district. APS has the right to control its technology resources and may monitor or restrict access to these devices to ensure they are being used appropriately. Please make sure the devices are charged daily before school. Also a reminder to inspect your scholar's cord and talk to them about not using a charger that is frayed (wires showing). All chargers below have been recalled and we have asked they be returned to the school immediately. Please help us by speaking to your scholar and inspecting the cord if it is home. Thanks
Media Center Upcoming Events & More
MEDIA CENTER INFORMATION:
The media center is having a black history book recommendation contest until February 28th. Allowed students will spend 20 mins. doing research on their choice of book, related to black history and write a quick referral on that book for their peers. Each 20-minute book referral will count towards their Race2Read reading challenge minutes and will help the student, our school, and the district as well. The top students with the highest reading mins will get to participate in a movie celebration on February 28th. TBA and TBD for March events.
Also, it's not too late for students to participate in the Charger’s Reading Challenge. We encourage students to read a minimum of 400 minutes (5, 20 min reading blocks per week) by the end of each month. Completers could win prizes and/or gift cards! Students can register for the RACE 2 READ CHALLENGE in Beanstack app (or in MyBackpack). Students must remember to log in their minutes and show them to Mr. Thibault (Tee-Bo) for a chance to enter our drawing for a PRIZE and/or GIFT CARD!

- Tech Issues: Log-in issues, locked devices, internet issues, password, or network unavailable issues, etc.
- Damaged Devices: Broken screens, missing keys, detached devices, charging issues, power issues, etc.
- Lost / Stolen: Misplaced. Unable to find. / Taken without permission and without intending to return it.
We have Tech Day every Tuesday. Our assigned school student tech person, Mr. Jessie, come every Tuesday between 11AM – 1PM (estimated time). We encourage students who have tech issues to come on Tuesdays between those hours. If it is a tech issue, any other day and time may result in a delay of correcting their device issue.
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays will be reserved for any other issues that can be finalized without the need of a technician.
Unfortunately, we do not have any lost / stolen replacement devices. Students must fill out a lost / stolen form. It takes 72 hours (3days) to research. After researching, if a student’s device is found, it will be returned to them. Currently, we are only providing used replacement devices for new students, tech issues and damaged devices. Unfortunately, we do not have any lost / stolen replacement devices.
Lastly, to indulge in Media Center activities or receive assistance, students must have a hall pass. Students without a staff member must have a hall pass or will be asked to return to their pervious destination.
Wednesday tutorial will begin September 7th from 4:45pm- 5:45pm.
