Stateside Scoop

Week of November 6th-10th

Virus update

As most of you are aware, the virus that has been affecting the student and staff computers is still ongoing. The WiFi capability for students is still disabled and we highly encourage no one to access WiFi using their student devices on a home network until the county has fully eradicated the virus. The OCS IT department is working diligently to contain and eliminate the virus as quickly as possible. We will update you as the situation changed.

Monthly event and lunch calendars

They will be coming home tomorrow. Sorry for the delay.

Attention all Veteran's!!! Stateside wants you to visit on 11/9!

Stateside will be hosting multiple Veteran's Day activities on November 9th! We hope to see many veterans in the halls at STES. We will be hosting a breakfast following Morning Meeting for any visiting Veteran's. Morning meeting (starts at 8:45) will include speakers from multiple branches, a presentation from our Patriot Voices chorus group and a viewing of our own Honor Guard presenting the colors for the school. Each grade level will have many fun activities and individual guest speakers throughout the day!

We want to honor you as only the School of National Pride can! Keep an eye out for more information.

Would you like to win a new Jeep Wrangler donated by National Dodge?

See the link below for the details! We have tons of tickets for sale! Any member of the office can help you.

Students were provided order forms last week for this wonderful opportunity. Feel free to send the form and any monies to the school at your convenience.

Charleston Wrap update

Charleston Wrap fundraising items will be able to be picked up on November 7th. Please see any member of the office staff for assistance.

Parent Tech Night...a huge thank you!

Thank you so much for those that were able to make it out to our first Parent Tech Night this past week. We hope that many questions were answered. See below for some recap pictures.

Phone number changes

We have had recent occurrences of attempting to contact parents for various reasons but the numbers have either changed, voicemail is not set up or voicemail boxes are full. If you have recently changed your number (after the school year has started), please send in your updated number so we can change it in the system. We want to ensure we have the most recent number for communication purposes.

Also....if you did not receive the alert call from Onslow County School on Friday regarding the virus situation with our student computers, that is an indication that the number we have on file is not accurate. Please contact Shannon Whaley, our data manager, or your child's teacher to provide a new number.

Red Ribbon Week is still going on!

Thank you to everyone who participated in Red Ribbon Week. We even spotted a few parents getting in to the spirit this week! Here are some pictures of our students enjoying the events of the week (in addition to being role model Patriots in the classroom).

Parent Advisory Council update!

Fall Festival update -

Information for punch card / wristband sales will be coming home this week! We are also in need of donations for the Cake Walk. That paperwork will be coming home as well.

Our Parent Advisory Council committee is hard at work planning various aspects of the Fall Festival. If are interested in lending a hand, please contact Casey Mitchell at

The theme for this years Fall Festival is 'Join us under the Big Top!' Carnival theme with a Circus twist! We are sooooo excited for this event! The staff is very excited about their costumes and we can not wait to have our halls bustling with activity on November 17th.

We will have pizza, popcorn, drinks and cotton candy for sale that evening in addition to Rita's ice and Sheryl's Apples.

We would like to welcome Young Living Essential Oils, Crab A Onesie (clothing), Dot Dot Smile Maleka McDannell (children's clothing), Scentsy, Bissette Bowtique (STES clothing and hair bows), SeneGence, Rita's Italian Ice, Sheryl's Candy Apple Creations, and LuLaRoe by Kasey Kazuko as vendors for the Fall Festival. We have others in the works but waiting for confirmation. We are very excited to have each of these vendors join us for the event!

In addition, we will be joined by Rockin' Game Party and having a blast with a Game Truck, Lazer Tag and Battle Ball. The prices for these activities will be in the information coming home. We will post the flyer as well very soon.

Many cool things are happening each day at STES...check it out!
