PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear St. Joseph Families,

In one week we start the 2020-2021 school year. As we prepare to begin a new year of learning and growing, I would be remiss by not saying a huge Thank You for sticking with us as a part of our school family. As a faculty and staff, we are so excited to see our current students and families and welcome our new students and their families.

We truly do feel, Thankful, Grateful and Truly Blessed. The beautiful wooden cross that you see in the photo above is a gift from the Class of 2020. It is proudly displayed in our main school office.

Family Prayer

God make us a family

We need one another

We love one another

We work together

We play together

We worship together

Together we use God’s word

Together we grow in Christ

Together we love all people

Together we serve our God

Together we hope for Peace

These are our hopes and ideals

Help us to attain them,

O God, Through Jesus Christ

Our Lord

Amen

With gratitude,

Patti Calton

SJS Principal

SCHOOL REOPENING CALENDAR DATES - 2020-2021 School Year

Please mark your calendars for the NEW reopening dates for the 20-21 school year. The dates have been changed to provide parents and students time to connect with their teacher and to understand how the classes will function directly from the teachers during virtual distance learning.

Wednesday, August 19th - Virtual Back to School Night

The Virtual Back to School Night schedule is below. Parents are asked to attend a session corresponding to your child’s grade. Two sessions have been scheduled for TK - 5th for those families that have multiple children in those grades. All middle school parents are asked to attend Session #3. A link to these sessions will be included in next week’s Smore newsletter.

  • Session #1: TK -5th: 5:00pm - 5:45pm

  • Session #2: TK -5th: 6:00pm - 6:45pm

  • Session #3: Middle School 6th - 8th: 7:00pm - 7:45pm

Thursday, August 20th & Friday August 21st: Teacher Meet & Greet

If you have not already done so, please be sure to sign up for a time for you and your SJS students to visit the school, meet their teacher and drop-off or pick-up needed supplies or devices. Since we are starting the school year virtually, it is important to make this connection with the teachers.

(Please note that we are using the same program used for our Parent/Teacher conferences to schedule these appointments. However, these days are not for conferences and appointment times must be adhered to in order to maintain safety protocols. Also, everyone coming onto campus will need to complete a health questionnaire and have their temperature checked.)

CLICK HERE TO SIGN-UP 8/20 OR 8/21 APPOINTMENT

Use this link to sign-up for Meet your teacher/materials pick-up days. You will need an appointment for each of your SJS students.

Monday, August 24th, 2020: Instruction Begins

More information coming in next week's Smore newsletter.

Beginning of the year paperwork

Even though there are no August packets or Wednesday envelopes this year, we still need you to complete the beginning of the year paperwork. The oldest SJS student in each family will be given an envelope containing all of the required paperwork when they come to their Meet and Greet appointment next week. Please complete all of these required forms, put them back inside of the envelope and then drop them by the office no later than September 2nd. If you prefer, you may scan the completed forms and email them to Mrs. Marron, cmarron@sjsmsj.org, or mail them into the office via the postal service. Thank you.

Regarding student supplies

If the supply being asked for has to do with the educational process, (i.e. markers, crayons, glue, etc...), please keep it at home for use during virtual instruction. Reams of paper and cleaning supplies may be dropped off at school during the Meet and Greet days. However, if you do not yet have those supplies, you may bring them when you do or when onsite instruction resumes. The link to the student supplies is included below for your convenience.
Student School Supply Lists

Please direct any questions about supplies to your child's homeroom teacher. Thank you.
