NC Bus Driver Appreciation Week:
School bus drivers across North Carolina will bask in well-earned attention next week during School Bus Driver Appreciation Week, as individual schools and districts recognize drivers’ key role with various events and celebrations. Nationally, February is Love the Bus month, aimed to raise awareness and appreciation for the safe experience of riding the bus to and from school.
Parents, teachers and children are encouraged to visit the American School Bus Council's website to share stories about their favorite bus drivers and find a variety of other resources for honoring drivers.
Valentine's Dinner/Dance: There will be the annual Valentine's Dinner and Dance this Friday, February 15th. Faculty are required to attend. If you are not able to attend, please email Mr. Biles ASAP. Dinner begins at 5:45 PM and the dance is from 6:30 PM-8:30 PM. In years past, students have enjoyed seeing teachers in attendance and some unique dance moves on the dance floor. The PTA will appreciate staff support since PTA activities support the classroom and their efforts are for all of us. Thank you for your participation.
Consideration of Retention Names Due Wednesday, February 13:
Now that we are finalizing our MOY data for reading and math we need to formally alert parents of students that should be on our consideration for retention list. Thanks to those that have already sent names and situations in. Go to the linked Consideration of Retention Sheet to fill in your students that, after your collection of data at level 2 or 3 should be considered. As the Intervention Team has discussed with you these are the students that are consistently below benchmark, have a PEP and have been progress monitored for an extended period of time. Go to this LINK to view, copy, complete your info and return by email to Kevin by Wednesday, February 13.
2019/2020 Staff Intent Form
The 2019-20 Staff Intent Form is now available. Please complete this form by Thursday, February 28th. Next year Wake County will continue to transition the mandated class size requirements so it is essential that you prioritize your desired grade levels as there will need to be some adjustments to some grade level assignments.
