Luce Notes
Important information, dates, and school updates.
What's the scoop at the Luce?
Hello Luce Families,
Last week was a great week of learning and building on routines and expectations at the Luce. Please read the important information for this week.
Rosh Hashanah
This coming Monday we will observe Rosh Hashanah. We mark the beginning of Rosh Hashanah, the commencement of the spiritual New Year in the Jewish faith. This year, the holiday celebration encompasses the time between sundown on Sunday, September 25 through sundown on Tuesday, September 27. In addition, the Jewish High Holiday for atonement, Yom Kippur, begins at sundown on Tuesday, October 4, and ends at sundown on Wednesday, October 5.
These religious days are the most sacred on the Jewish calendar and signal the beginning and end of the Yamim Noraim, a ten-day period beginning with Rosh Hashanah, followed by days of repentance, and ending with Yom Kippur. Daily meditation, prayer, and specific work restrictions are all part of the aforementioned holidays.
We want to thank you in advance for demonstrating the respect, understanding, and flexibility that serve as the cornerstones of a culturally proficient school community.
