Celebrating Summer Readers
Congratulations to our 2019 LO Public Library Summer Reading Program readers! Forest Hills had 246 participants, with 112 students finishing the entire program. A special congratulations goes out to these Super Readers who read beyond the required hours:

Lego Robotics Open House for Parents
This fall, Lake Oswego Robotics will support the formation of one or more FIRST Lego League (FLL) robotics teams.
If your student is interested in trying robotics, please join our Open House on Thursday September 26th, from 6:00-7:30 PM in the Forest Hills Elementary School Library to learn more. At this event, parents will have a chance to explore building and programming Lego robots, and learn more about the FIRST program. http://www.firstlegoleague.org/

Open to parents of 4th and 5th grade students
Teams will be created by the parents with an ideal size of 7-10 students. This is a parent driven club activity and Lake Oswego Robotics will coach the parents of the teams on how to lead a robotics team. In order to help us prepare for the event, please RSVP by email to LORobotics.FLL@gmail.com, and indicate your student's name and grade.
Back to School Night Information
Back to School Night is an event for parents to hear directly from the principal and their child's teacher. Parents will meet in the gym for the main session before moving to the first of two sessions in their child's classroom. Parents will also hear from the PTO, Lake Oswego Schools Foundation, and Superintendent de la Cruz.

The Forest Hills Fun Run is Friday, September 27 during the following times:
9:00-9:30 | 3rd Grade
9:45-10:15 | 4th Grade
10:30-11:00 | 5th Grade
12:30-1:00 | Kindergarten
1:15-1:45 | 1st Grade
2:00-2:30 | 2nd Grade

Online Information Verification - REQUIRED FOR ALL STUDENTS
All families are required to annually verify their information, such as home address, contact information, etc., even if nothing has changed since last year.
Log into ParentVue and click on the Online Registration tab to verify information.
If you have forgotten your ParentVue password, go to the login page, click "I am a Parent", then click "Create New Account or Reset Password" and choose "Forgot Password". Call the Forest Hills front office for help: 503-534-2350.
Laker Dance Team
CALLING ALL FUTURE LAKERS! The Laker Dance Team will once again be running a dance clinic for students grades Pre-K through 8th grade from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, October 11th (Statewide Professional Day) Participants will have fun learning a dance routine and then have the opportunity to show off their new dance moves with a half-time performance with the Laker Dancers at the Friday, October 18th Laker Football game. Register by September 30th to receive a complimentary T-Shirt! Please email lodtclinic@gmail.com for more information.
Weather Appropriate Attire (Repeat)
The rain is here! Although acclimating to rainy weather is a part of growing up in the Pacific Northwest, it is also very helpful to have appropriate attire. Please send your child to school with attire that will project against moderate rain. A rain jacket is a must!
PTO Registration (Repeat)
For your convenience, the PTO is offering online registration. Registration allows you to sign up for a variety of volunteer opportunities, pay the classroom fee, and make an optional donation.
