My name is Esther and I am Kaitiaki for 2022. A little bit about me is that I LOVE sports, swimming and surfing. I LOVE Whangamata and it's my favorite place in the world , especially hanging out with my family there because we have a whanau bach! I am 11yrs old turning 12 in April, and I live in Bell Block. My favorite sport to play is Netball. I love little kids and love hanging out with lots of people, I am very sociable. I have 5 siblings , 1 brother and 4 sisters. I am from Auckland, we moved to Taranaki in December 2018.
Some of the things I am really good at is socializing with everyone and I get along with all age groups. I am also good at communicating and being kind to others. I am great at getting my work done to a high standard and respecting my peers and whoever is around me.
I am so grateful that I got this role and can't wait for what's to come this year.

I have been at Puketapu School for 8 years now and I love it here!! It's so fun. I have one sister and my dog Opie Ty. My sister is one year older than me and my dog is 3. Hello my name is Liam and I am one of the kaitaki for 2022. A little bit about me is that I love to go outside and play Football and all other sports like Basketball. I started playing football at about 5 years old and since then I've played for lots of different clubs, like the Taranaki team etc.
More about me, all of my family were all born in New Zealand but for most of my life I've lived in Wellington. But now most of me and my family live in Taranaki now like my Nana, Grandad,Aunties,Uncles. I've found it really nice at this school and in Taranaki in general.
I am excited for this year and being one of the kaitaki for 2022.
Liam Smith.

Kia ora my name is Poutama and I will be one of four kaitiaki for 2022.
I have three siblings, one sister and two brothers. Their names are Marara, Meshach, and Cainan.
My dad's name is Marshall and my mum's name is Misty.
Things about me: I love playing sports. I'm really passionate about it.
I love to hang out with my friends but if there is anything you need me for I will be there to help. I love going to the beach and I love swimming. I can communicate really well. I usually hangout on the basketball court or the rugby field. I love showing our values which are Kia Ora, Kia Maia Kia Kaha and Kia Manawanui. I don't have much experience with this role but I'm willing to learn. I have been at Puketapu School for 8 years and the way I have seen things change is really cool.
A GENERAL UPDATE FOR OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY
Here is our Week 6 COVID Update for our kura:
It is likely there will be more cases over the coming weeks, so please monitor your child’s health closely. If your child is showing any symptoms please keep them home and get a COVID test.
If your child tests positive, please let us know by sending a text message or calling and leaving a voicemail on 027 755 0973.
We continue to follow all of the RED health/safety settings to minimise the spread at school, but it is clear that COVID-19 is widespread throughout our community.
We anticipate an upcoming challenge will be to ensure we have enough staff to cover all classes, but are deeply committed to staying open as long as we possibly can.
While your household is well, and your child is well - PLEASE send them to school. This is important for their social connection and learning.
If any families require any additional support or have queries, then please know that we are here to help.
And again (sounding like a broken record!) we would like to thank our parents/caregivers for their ongoing support, understanding and resilience as we continue to face this challenge.
