Carpool Procedures
Our carpool procedures and walking/biking routes for students are the same as last year. Please make sure to click on the link below to familiarize yourself with the process.
Attendance Reporting
If your student will be absent, arriving late or leaving early from school, please make sure to fill out the attendance form before 9:00 am. The attendance form will alway be located at the top of this newsletter each week. Teachers take attendance right away in the morning and if your student is not here and we do not hear from you we will call you.
If your student will be gone multiple days you can put the date range in the comment secion.
You must also give a valid reason for your student's absences. If a valid reason is not given your student will be marked unexcused for the day.
Messages given to teachers are appreciated, but you must also fill out the attendance form.
Thank you for your help with school attendance!
SCHOOL SUPPLIES
School Supply lists for the 23-24 school year are on the Rice Lake Website.
We want to remind families with students in grades 3-5 that your school supplies
will be here ready for you on the first day of school. The only items students grades 3-5 will need to bring from home are gym shoes, headphones (need to be corded, no wireless), and a backpack.
Rice Lake purchases supplies in bulk for these grades and we ask for $40 per student which covers the cost of the supplies along with a classroom donation.
The $40 fee will be assessed through Infinite Campus/Parent Portal.
You can access the fee by logging in and going to the fees tab,
scroll to the bottom and click on optional payments.
Then look for your student's grade level School Supplies and add it to your cart.
Infinite Campus/Parent Portal Log In
If you would like a scholarship to pay for the supplies, please email Sue Fried at sfried@isd12.org and provide your student's name and grade level.
Student Fees
The district has moved to an all-electronic payment system. Rather than sending cash or checks to school, you will be able to pay for classroom donations, school supplies (grades 3-5), and field trips through Campus Parent Portal. Log into Parent Portal, go to the Fees page,
scroll down to Optional Payments, choose your student and select the fee(s) to be paid.
Most fees are currently available. If you choose to pay them all at once,
you can add them to your cart and pay for them all together.

Immunizations
Minnesota law requires children enrolled in childcare, early childhood education, or school to be immunized against certain diseases, unless the child is medically or non-medically exempt.
If proper documentation is not provided, students will be unable to attend school after November 1st, 2023. What you need to do:
- Contact your health care provider and review your student’s immunization status to make sure they are up to date.
- If you missed a required vaccination, make an appointment with a healthcare provider or local clinic as soon as possible.
- Follow up with your students’ school if they have reached out to you regarding your students’ immunization status.
- Turn in medical (must be signed by a health care provider) and non-medical (must be notarized) exemption forms to your child’s school if they are exempt from immunizations.
Visit the MDH website for vaccine schedules, exemption forms and more information including where to get free/low cost immunizations today. Please reach out to your students’ school for any questions.
