8th Grade Court in School
We have "Court in School" today at 9:00am for our 8th graders.
- We will be calling 8th graders down to the cafeteria by classroom beginning a few minutes before 9:00am. Please escort your 1st hour down to the cafeteria.
- If you have a 2nd or 3rd hour 8th grade class, please plan to come down to the cafeteria at that time to supervise students and replace the teachers with prep or 6/7 classes that are starting.
- If you have a split 7th/8th grade class, plan to stay in your classroom with your 7th grade students.
- Please remind 6th and 7th grade students to move through the hall quietly during passing time and that they will not be able to enter the cafeteria. Students needing to go to the gym should enter through the doors by the orchestra room and students entering and exiting the band room should plan to walk through the gym as well.
- We expect the event to wrap up between 10:30-11:00am

Cultures of Thinking Website - This is a great website to explore! The 10 Guiding Principles for creating a culture of thinking are good anchor points as we think about our day-to-day work, brainstorm ideas for problems of practice, or plan upcoming units.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year: Troybery Season! Today we kick off our 23rd Annual Troybery Award Program in our Troy middle school media centers with the release of our Troybery Potentials list! (See attached list with hyperlinks to book summaries, as well as a graphic of the covers.)
Please feel free to share with your students and read along with them! It’s always so wonderful to have staff discussing their favorite Troybery books with students.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR MARCH 10—We will be hosting our 2nd Annual Troybery Author Blitz again the day after parent-teacher conferences. Let your librarian provide your lesson plan for that day with Troybery author Zoom visits every hour!
The Troybery final voting will be the week of April 10, with the video ceremony being released on May 5.
Thank you for your support of our reading program. Please let me know if you have any questions or if you want to check out any of our amazing 2023 titles! Many thanks to those teachers who gave input about our choices.

So, when you're going to be absent, please email your lesson plans to Amanda, Ryan, and Casey, along with auxsub-smi1@troy.k12.mi.us.
The subs will also be able to cast to your classroom TVs with that iPad. Please make sure the correct sharing permissions are set on any documents you want subs to access and share.
