Roosevelt Weekly Parent Info
Dearest Roosevelt Families,
Hello to ALL! It likely goes without saying, but we miss our Raccoons terribly! Take a moment today to enjoy this very special video made by some very special people--share it with your child(ren) and let them know we love them!
I know you are receiving lots of information from lots of different places, but please take a moment to read through the information below.
~ Planning For Distance Learning: Our teachers have been developing a distance learning plan to support learning from home. The goal is to provide a comprehensive plan that provides standards based learning experiences for your child if we need to experience school closure beyond March 27th. In the meantime, reading is the best thing your child can do. Puzzles, card games, and board games are also great ways to engage the brain in productive thinking. You may also have access to online learning tools linked on the Roosevelt Elementary Media Center site, the Omni Portal, or through links shared by classroom teachers.
There will be communication about how and when parents can pick up the distance learning materials and student locker items if we learn that school closure is to go beyond March 27th. Stay tuned for additional detailed information regarding the plan.
Postponed until further notice:
~ Parent-Teacher Conferences were scheduled for March 17, 19 & 24. Your child's conference report will come home with the distance learning materials that teachers are gathering. Please take a look at your child's report card. Should you wish to talk further about his/her progress, please reach out to your child's teacher.
~ March PTO meeting
~ Roosevelt Music Concert
~ Any other school sponsored activity between March 16 - March 30.
~ Dates to remember:
Friday, March 27 Planned last day for school closure
Monday, March 30 Non-school day
Tuesday, March 31 Planned day for students' return to school (or distance learning to begin)
Thursday, April 9 Non-school day
Friday, April 10 Non-school day
~ Daily Emails from the Superintendent's Office to update families: Each day Mankato Area Public Schools sends out an email update with the latest health information. It is important that you take a few minutes to read these. If you are not receiving these (please check your junk/spam folder to see if they are in there), you can visit the district website at https://www.isd77.org/ to find this information.
~ Do your children receive Back Pack Food Program items? If your student has been receiving Back Pack Food Program items in their back pack, these will be delivered via volunteer to your homes. Please be on the look out for these deliveries.
Do not underestimate your ability to support your child during this challenging time. You are, and always have been, your child's first teacher! Thank you for the love, encouragement, compassion, and care that you bring them. Stay well, Roosevelt Raccoons!
