Volunteers Needed for EOGs
Trexler is seeking volunteers to help proctor the End of Grade tests. Testing will take place on the mornings of May 30th, May 31st, June 1st, June 4th, and June 5th. Scholastic Book Fair
Trexler's spring Scholastic Book Fair has arrived. The fair is open in the media center during school hours until April 30th. Students and parents are welcome to shop during school hours. Parents and relatives may also make purchases until May 11th by shopping at our online fair, found by clicking the link below. Remember, all purchases benefit our school.
Chess Club
The Trexler Chess Club has been meeting on Thursdays through-out the year to learn the rules and strategy of the game. Throughout their rigorous practice, students have mastered various strategic moves and critical thinking. Today they traveled to Jacksonville Commons Elementary to represent Trexler in the Onslow County Chess Tournament.
Trexler Performing Arts
Music is in the air as Trexler's band, chorus, and orchestra students prepare for the Spring Concert Series. Below you will find detailed information regarding each concert. We invite you to join us for a night of music and song from our talented musicians and singers.
Chorus-May 8th
A message from Ms. Andrews:
It is the time of year when the Trexler Middle School choral students present their spring concert. We invite you to join us on Tuesday, May 8th at 6:30pm in the RICHLANDS HIGH SCHOOL AUDITORIUM. There will be a $2.00 admission fee for adults and school age children.
I am requesting that 6th choral students be on the risers by 6:00pm to complete a warm and sound check. The 7th and 8th grade choral students will meet in the RHS band room by 6:30pm. Please make every effort to have your child in the designated area on time.
All students must be in concert attire. The young ladies should wear a white sleeved shirt, black pants or knee length skirt and black shoes—NO ATHELETIC SHOES, FLIP FLOPS, OR VERY HIGH HEELS PLEASE. The young men should wear a white dress shirt, long tie (7th & 8th grade only), black slacks and dress shoes (NO ATHELETIC SHOES). Students should not bring any personal belongings (coats, purses, cell phones, etc.) with them to the stage area.
Band – May 14th
A message from Ms. Sumner:
Trexler's Spring Band Concert will take place on Monday, May 14th at 6:00pm in the Richlands High School Auditorium. Doors will open at 5:15pm, and students are expected to be in their seats with instruments and music by 5:45pm. 6th grade musicians will be seated on stage, while 7th and 8th grade musicians will have a designated area to sit in the auditorium. After each group performs, you may leave; however, everyone is invited to stay for the entire concert. Each family will be given one free ticket for the performance. Regular admission is $2.00.
Band Concert Attire
Ladies: White blouse, black dress pants or skirt (2 inches below the knee), dress shoes
Young Men: White dress shirt, tie, black dress pants, dress shoes.
**Note: Students need to unpack instruments and leave cases in the band room during the performance**
Orchestra – May 15th
A message from Ms. Nosow:
The Spring Orchestra concert will be on Tuesday, May 15th in the Richlands High School Auditorium. Students need to arrive at 6:00pm wearing their black orchestra polo, black pants, and dark shoes (dark socks if necessary). The concert begins at 6:30pm, and admission is free. No tickets are required, and family and friends are welcome!

Falcon Athletics
There have been some changes for track meets this year. The Track meet originally scheduled for April 30th has been canceled. The meet scheduled for May 7th is still on, and will take place at Brewster Middle School.
Last Call for Yearbooks!
Monday, April 30th is your last day to pre-order a Falcon yearbook. We only have a limited amount left!! Please bring your $39 and your yearbook order form to main office.
Dress Code
Falcon Finale
Would you like to be more involved with your child's after school activities? Do you have time to volunteer to help support Trexler's after school events? If you've answered YES, Trexler's PTO is seeking your membership, and they would love to see you at their next meeting on Monday, April 30th at 6:00pm in the cafeteria. From chaperoning dances to concession stands, the PTO supports Trexler in a variety of ways, and these efforts are only successful with the support of parent volunteers.
Trexler's PTO is currently in need of volunteers to help chaperone the 8th Grade Falcon Finale on Friday, May 18th. Volunteers will also be needed to help decorate, collect tickets at the door, and serve food. If you are unable to donate your time, the PTO is also seeking food donations for the dance. For more information, please come to the next Falcon Finale planning session on Monday, April 30th at 6:30 pm in Trailer 260. If you are unable to make the PTO meeting, Falcon Finale planning session, or if you have questions, please contact Trexler's PTO at trexlerpto@yahoo.com.

TMS AVID
5th Grade AVID Orientation
Trexler Middle School AVID Site team was hosted by Richlands Elementary School for the annual 5th Grade AVID Orientation that took place on April 26th , 2018 from 5:30-7:00pm. During the evening TMS teachers and students held "break out session" and spoke to current 5th graders about different aspects of the AVID program. Some of the break out session were about Tutorials, Binder Checks, Focused-Note Taking, College Information, Team Building, and a Student Panel. The purpose of the evening was to help the 5th graders understand how the AVID program can help them be successful in school and to illustrate the difference between AVID schoolwide and the AVID elective classes. All 5th graders can apply for AVID to be in an elective class by turning in a complete application.
AVID Applications are due no later than Tuesday, May 1st, 2018
AVID Fundraiser-WIN A JEEP
Onslow County Schools is participating in a raffle fundraiser for a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. Tickets for the raffle are $20. Money raised directly benefits Trexler Middle School. A reverse drawing will be held on May 19th, and the one lucky winner will leave with a 2018 Jeep Wrangler.
AVID elective students will be selling tickets to help support Trexler at National Dodge.
