Show up. Speak up. Ask for help.
Show up. Go to class every day and participate fully. Sit toward the front. Establish yourself with the professor. Attend office hours. Be on time. Be prepared. Fulfill your obligations.
Speak up. Become an information seeker. Ask questions. Become curious. Get clarification if things are confusing. Be vocal. Advocate for yourself in the classroom, in the residence hall, and across the campus.
Ask for help. Needing assistance is not a sign of weakness -- it's a reality. For most college students, there will never be another time in your life when so many understanding, well-trained people are genuinely interested in helping you succeed. When you feel lost, please ask for help. Go knock on a door or two. We're waiting to talk with you.

Need Help with Your Classes? Your Instructors and Student Success Support Team Want to Help!
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about your classes this semester the BEST people to talk to are your instructors and student success support team! Most of your instructors have office hours, usually provided to you on the syllabus they hand out or have posted on Laulima. If you are unsure of when you can come in to talk to them, send them an email! If you do not know how to find their email or office phone numbers, then you can check MyLeeward!
Scheduling an Appointment: 3 Easy Steps
1. Access MyLeeward, either through this link (https://maikai.leeward.hawaii.edu/myleeward) or through the MyLeeward tab on your UH Portal.
2. Login with your UH Username and Password if you aren't already logged in.
3. On the left, click "My Success Network" where you will find a list of your current instructors, your program counselor Amy Amper, and the CTE Academic Specialist Melodee Himuro, as well as next semester's instructors if you have already registered for Spring classes.
*Once you're there, you will find your instructor's email address, and for some instructors, you will be able to schedule an appointment online to have a face-to-face meeting.

Spring 2016 Payment Deadline
For students who register during Nov. 2-Dec.11, 2015, the PAYMENT DEADLINE is 3:30pm on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015. Students are responsible for payment of tuition and fees incurred because of registration. The University reserves the right to cancel your registration. This means that if you don't pay for your classes prior to the deadline, you will be removed out of your Spring classes and you will have to re-register for those classes, with no guarantee that there will still be a spot for you.
If you register after Dec. 11, 2015 you are responsible to make a payment or officially withdraw by the appropriate deadlines. Failure to do this could result in a FINANCIAL OBLIGATION HOLD.
