1806 The Lewis & Clark Expedition returns back to St. Louis just over three years after their departure.

1863 Mary Church Terrell, educator and civil rights activist, was born.

1957 President Dwight D. Eisenhower sends Federal troops to Little Rock, Arkansas to protect nine African American students who were attending the newly integrated school.

1968 Will Smith, actor, singer, producer, was born.

1981 Sandra Day O'Connor, the first female Supreme Court Justice, is sworn in.

EDUCATOR Spotlight!

Mrs. Lindsay Lee teaches Pre AP and AP World History at Little Elm High School. This is her second year in the district and she serves as the Social Studies Department Chair. Mrs. Lee works tirelessly to prepare her students for the AP exam and the challenges that lie ahead.

Favorite Tools: Mrs. Lee utilizes Ted Talks and other thought provoking and relevant videos to connect the past to the present. She regularly uses Edmodo, Padlet, and Socratic Seminars to encourage deep conversations and allow students to make connections to their own lives.
