Welcome Back Pandas!
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 2020 - 2021 school year. While I am very excited to serve all of you in my third year as your principal, I realize that this year will greet you with uncertainty, questions and in some cases concerns. I would like to reassure you that the Penny Road staff and I are diligently preparing for the year that lies ahead of us and we are looking forward to engaging with our students once again.
This year’s school theme is, “Game On, Panda Strong.” The phrase, “Game On,” generally means to accept a challenge, to get ready, and to do your best. This is what we aim to do. The teachers and staff at Penny Road Elementary School are committed to ensuring that our students receive high levels of excellence as we aim to bring to them the best education possible. To do this, we will continue to focus on our School Improvement Plan (SIP) which states, “Penny Road Elementary School will foster a culture that is inclusive, engaging, and relevant for all students to continuously improve towards their full potential while building relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community." We are also seek to:
Partner with our school community to engage our learners and meet the needs of all students.
Equip students with the social, emotional, and critical thinking skills needed to succeed in the real world.
Allow students choice and voice with their learning.
Welcome all students by engaging in conversations that disrupt stereotypes, biases, and prejudice.
The phrase “Panda Strong,” simply embodies the strength that lies within each of
us. We are strong, we are resilient and we ALWAYS rise to any occasion.
Whether your student is enrolled virtually or in the blended model, we are one
school, with one goal, which is to provide our students with the best education
Possible, because we are PANDA STRONG.
In closing, I am looking forward to another amazing school year in service to our
students, parents, and community. Please see all of the updates listed below. I will keep
you abreast of any upcoming updates that are released.
Best,
Mrs. Hoke, Principal
