CHARACTERISTICS
- considered most beautiful of the peacocks
- they are very shy birds and are rarely seen in the wild
- however, they adapt well and breed easily in captivity
- has a long metallic blue crest with white feather lines above and below the eye
- the bills are black and the feet are brown in male and female birds
- males have spurs on the back of their legs
- females are mottled brown and have a brown crest (which isn't as visible as the male's crest)
- the female's face and throat are whitish
- the female's tail has faint ocelli on the feathers and is much shorter then the male's
