Welcome Amy Haisch!
If you have speech concerns for any of your students, we can get them screened with parent permission. The best way to do this is to convene a SAT meeting. There, we (teacher, principal, counselor, parents, and hopefully, Amy!) can talk about the teacher's concerns, see if the parents are hearing the same things at home, and if so, we'll get their permission right there.
Safety/Security Walk-Through
They provided a couple of suggestions that we could implement right away and a couple of ideas that might be coming in the near future--like putting room numbers on the backs of your interior doors and on one of your exterior windows. This would allow first responders to find your room very quickly.
We will not receive a report that focuses on our school. We won't even receive a NPS report! Instead, they'll take all this data and, in about a year, we'll see data from all the schools in Nebraska. It won't be broken down by district or building.
Outside Recess
It's possible that it may warm up throughout the day. So check the temperature--especially if we've been inside for a couple of days in a row! You may be able to find some time to get the kids outside--even if it's just for a few minutes in the afternoon!
