State Pageant Information
Miss Majorette of New Jersey
Advanced division only. Solo determines division. This pageant (except College division) qualifies winners for the Miss Majorette of America Pageant at AYOP. Contestants will compete in Dress Modeling with an interview (20% of overall placement), Super-X Strut (40%), and Solo (40%). Overall winner will be determined by placement in each event. College solo: Minimum 1:10 one baton, freestyle portion may include multiple batons or novelty.
New Jersey Beginner & Intermediate Pageant
Beginner and Intermediate divisions only. Solo determines division. This pageant qualifies winners for the Beginner & Intermediate pageants at AYOP. Contestants will compete in Costume Modeling with an interview (20% of overall placement), Super-X Strut (40%), and Solo (40%). Overall winner will be determined by placement in each event.
Please remember NBTA rules: A state/regional beginner pageant contestant may only win the Beginner pageant title two times. A state/regional intermediate pageant contestant may only win the Intermediate pageant title two times.
New Jersey Novice Basic Skills Pageant
This event is open to Novice solo twirlers ONLY. This pageant does not qualify winners for any event at AYOP. Contestants will compete in Costume Modeling with no interview (20% of overall placement), Basic (40%), and Solo (40%).

Followed by Pageant Struts and Pageant Solos
After 4:00...Open and State Show Twirl and Rhythmic Twirl
Pageant Awards (in modeling attire)
Sunday, 8:00...Doors open, not before
8:45...Teams and Full Team Retreat and Awards (in costume)
After 12:00...Struts
Followed by all Solos/Duets and Trios/2 and 3 Baton/Hoop and Flag
Soloist Parade and Awards (in costume)

All judges' decisions are final.
Contestant's age is determined by age as of 9/1/2017.
Double entering is not allowed at official state, regional, and national events.
Facility Fee of $20 per family. All competitors must pay fee, even if on a team.
No flash picture taking, eating, or drinking in the gym.
Participation is at your own risk. Contest directors and Rahway Recreation Center are not responsible for accidents, property loss, or injury.
