Bison Beat
October 2021
Message From the Principal
We are preparing for our Family Friendly Walk-through on October 21. This walk-through will give us information about what we are doing well to invite and partner with families to support students, and it will also give us ways to improve as a school. This walk-through consists of a team from the state, 4-6 parents, and 2-3 teachers. The team will look at 4 components in our school to give us feedback about what to improve.
- Physical Environment
- School-Wide Practices
- Learning Connections
- Written Communication/Technology
Our school is participating in a program that aims to empower families in navigating remote learning options for their children. As a part of the program, we want to hear from you on your thoughts on remote learning. Please fill out this short survey to provide your input.

Conferences
Fall Conferences are scheduled for October 18 & 20 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Conferences will be held face to face, and we look forward to having families come into the building to see what students have been learning.
This year the elementary school is using Sign-Up Genius for scheduling conferences this fall. Your child’s teacher has shared their link via e-mail or their other communication tool with you. This platform will allow you to choose the date & time that is most convenient for your family. If you have not selected a date & time, the teacher will assign you with what is available by Oct 13 and notify you.
Teacher links can also be found on our school district website. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher or by calling the elementary office.
Educational Learning Sites Students can access IXL or Waterford (Reading Academy) from home. These learning sites can help students stay on pace for their grade level by practicing skills for just 15-30 minutes a day. Students can assess these sites by using their Clever Badges, which is a single sign on. Find a link for Clever on our district website, under Parents/Students Tab. | Message from the Counselor October the counselor is focusing on lessons around conflict resolution and compassion.
